259 viewsAt the place where we went to snorkel was a road-side vendor. Jasmine was the proprieter and had some nice souvenirs. We bought a bamboo wind chime and Honu (turtle) necklace. She was a kick and a fine example of the Hawai'ian friendliness. If you want handmade Hawaiian/Polynesian jewelry, baskets, arts & crafts then contact her at pualaniopikake@yahoo.com.

250 viewsOur Lanai Dolphin Safari by Safari Boat Excursions. Pictures taken with a cheap-o, waterproof camera preloaded with 800 speed film...so it's a bit grainy...and explains the crappy underwater shots (and I used the flash). Here is our first stop, a WWII Liberty ship.

Day 6244 viewsThe Road to Hana! Based upon the recommendation of my parents, we took the Valley Isle Excursions tour van and are VERY glad we did. It's a VERY narrow road - with only room for one vehicle in many locations (beep your horn!) - and too much to see. Our driver was Maui native Kekoa (Kekeoa?) and had a great sense of humor and exceptional knowledge of the region. He also had a 1957 Type I (Bug) and drag raced a 600+hp Bug at one time so we had plenty to talk about.
