Mileage:
Highway = 29mpg with speeds mostly above 60mph with two passengers, top off, windows up, and lights down.
Stuff I've fixed because it simply needs to be done:
- Replaced right headlight housing/pivot assembly
- Aligned headlight assemblies so they don't scrape the body
- Glove box fixed and mounted correctly
- Old after-market radio removed along with stock antenna
- Fixed horn switch so both horns sound
- Fixed parking brake mechanism in cabin
- Spot rust cleaning and primering
- R&R engine and repairing neglect in engine bay
Stuff I've done because, uhm, it's our car:
- Black dash cover from my previous 914
- Front fogs can be turned on independently of headlights
- Bought FIVE Mahle 914 rims, four bolt, for $100. They have the VW logo and 914 part number...yeay!
- Installed front air dam with flexible lip
Other:
If you've got car skates then you need only two of them to move your drivetrain around while the 914 is on jack stands: Rear Front Side view

Sold her to James Sutton in December of 2007. House payments were more important than the "toy"
