318 viewsClose-up. The black plastic plugs are for seat belt mountings. The attachment points for a 2-person or 3-person seat are there in the middle, just waiting to get used :-)

318 viewsSlipping the boot past the end of the wire can be a little tricky so hemostats are helpful in pulling. Remember to use some WD-40 to help lubricate the wire. The blue crimpers have an MSD die in them for crimping the connectors to the wires.

317 viewsClose-up of the single-to-double hitch the previous owner made. I had to use a 1.25" to 2" adapter to pull it behind my Jetta. Was a little squirly even though I went no faster than 60mph. Definitely will be stable once I make a real hitch for my Squareback.

Right side317 viewsThis is the side I started on and passed the harness through the hard cover as recommended by a shop that does the procedure. What a MAJOR pain in the butt! Ideally, it would be best to REMOVE the airbox in order to get enough space to maneuver around; a much bigger task than I cared to do after 3 hours of work involved already! I have long thin fingers and trying to get the bulb in the socket, as well as the gasket into the hard cover, was quite difficult. Anyone with thicker and/or shorter fingers would likely have an even more difficult time as the space is just too cramped around that area.
